An Integrated Children’s Day Initiative Supporting Education, Nutrition and Well-being
WELDON TRUST organized a special Children’s Day Celebration for children affected by HIV/AIDS in Villupuram District with the objective of creating a joyful and supportive environment while addressing their educational, nutritional, and psychosocial needs. The event brought together children, caregivers, community volunteers, and partner organizations to celebrate the spirit of childhood and reinforce the importance of care, inclusion, and equal opportunities for vulnerable children.
As part of the celebration, educational support materials including notebooks, pens, school bags, and learning aids were distributed to encourage the children’s continued education and academic participation. Nutrition kits were also provided to support their health and wellbeing. The programme featured awareness sessions on health, hygiene, personal care, and positive life practices, helping children gain knowledge and confidence to make informed choices. Recreational activities, games, cultural programm es, and interactive sessions created a lively atmosphere where children could freely express themselves, build friendships, and enjoy a memorable day of celebration.
The event also included motivational interactions with community leaders and volunteers who encouraged the children to pursue their education, develop self-confidence, and remain hopeful about their future. These interactions helped foster a sense of belonging and emotional support among the participants.
